Nagnath Temple

         TheNagnath Temple is located in Basmat Taluka of Hingoli District, Maharashtra state, India. The Aundha Nagnath temple is dedicated to LordShiva, and the region will be crowded with devotees during the time of MahaShivratri. The Shiva Temple claims to be one of the Twelve Jyotirlingas in India. This claim is disputed by Nageshwar Temple at Dwarka, Gujarat. It has been stated that this temple building was of seven-storyed before sacking it by Aurangzeb. It is believed that Dharmraj Yudhishthir, the eldest of the Pandava brothers has constructed this beautiful temple while they were expelled for 14 years from Hastinapur.

         This temple has beautiful carvings and has been designed in the Hemadpanthi architecture style. The temple is spread across an area of 60,000 sq ft and is famous for celebration of festivals like Shivratri and Vijayadasahmi.
